Dr. Kendrick L. Myers has dedicated a decade to educating students in grades 8-12, serving in the Montgomery County, Auburn City, Opelika City, and Atlanta Public Schools systems. In 2016, he was honored as Alabama’s State Assistant Principal of the Year. The following year, he transitioned to Atlanta, where he became the Senior Academy Dean of Students at Drew Charter School, leading the successful matriculation of the school’s first graduating class into college. After three years in this role, he was appointed Principal of Drew’s Senior Academy in July 2019.
Driven by a deep passion for student success, Dr. Myers has collaborated with various organizations, including the BICS mentoring program, CLAS, Auburn University, AT&T, the International Mentoring Association, and Purpose Built Schools. During his seven years as an administrator, he has consistently achieved graduation rates exceeding 90%, reduced disciplinary infractions by nearly 30%, and supported numerous academic accomplishments among his students. He credits much of his success to strong partnerships with university and college collaborators, stakeholders, and colleagues who continue to inspire his growth as a leader in education.
Dr. Myers earned his Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from Alabama State University, followed by a Master’s Degree in Secondary Language Arts from Auburn University at Montgomery. He also holds a Master’s in Educational Administration and an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration, both from Auburn University, where he later received a PhD in Educational Leadership.
Dr. Myers resides in Atlanta, Ga with his wife and five children.
